My passion for basketball and the sometimes-exciting culture of Sacramento basketball inspired me to create this art quilt, “Purple Reign.” This piece is a celebration of the rich history and deep-rooted connection between the city of Sacramento, the Kings, and the Monarchs. I held season tickets to the Sacramento Monarchs WNBA team from 1998 until their demise in 2009, and I have honored some of my favorite players by adding their jersey numbers to the quilt.
