Symbographic Art Quilts
By stitching bits of fabric together, I create intricate, puzzle-like shapes reminiscent of graphics used in both ancient Mayan script and modern computer icons. These shapes, which I call symbographs, are mostly improvisational but sometimes meticulously drafted to tell stories of places and things.

I enjoy melding the harshness of digital paintings with the tactile nature of cloth. I have the images printed on fabric and hand stitch them.
